What Your Pets Are Covered For

Accidental Injury:
Coverage applies when the accident results directly from one of the following causes and is diagnosed within 48 hours of the incident:

  • Motor vehicle collision

  • Burns or electrocution

  • Falls from height

  • Near drowning incidents

  • Attacks by other animals

  • Allergic reactions to insect bites (excluding ticks and fleas, though tick bite fever/bosluiskoors is covered as an accident)

  • Snake bites

  • Poisoning


Coverage also applies when accidents result in:

  • Bone fractures

  • Puncture wounds

  • Traumatic ligament or tendon injuries

  • Lacerations, abrasions, or wounds

Acute Illnesses: Veterinary treatment costs for household pets, including:

  • Consultations

  • Diagnostic investigations

  • Surgical procedures

  • Acute medications

  • Radiology services

  • Biopsies and pathology testing


Covers ALL dogs and cats in the household under the same policy.

  • Waiting periods:
    Non-accidental claims 30 days from start date of policy.

  • Accidental injury claims:
    2-Day waiting period from start date of policy.
